A primary coloniser of derelict land. a rambling woody shrub, Leaves compound 3-5 leaflets. Thick prickly stems lOft long. Many white, pink flowers June-July. Profuse black fruits in Autumn.

Success

Pollination is by insects and wasps. It has spreading rooting stems. Its fruits are attractive to birds, and mammals which help to disperse the plant. For this reason it is a primary colonise of derelict land. Grows everywhere. Trailing stems root in soil.
