Will survive long periods of drought and excessive moisture. A coloniser of ground and rock. Plant has male and female organs. Seed capsules dispersed by water, wind, animals and birds. Small pieces may also grow into new plants. Grows in the most poor soils.

Serious weed of lawns, hard landscape.

Cultural Control

Avoid compaction, Prevention (2.3, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8) Cultural (1.5) regularly remove cuttings.

Chemical Control

Add lawn sand after aeration 4oz per m2 in Spring and Autumn. Water 48 hours later. Rake out moss 2 weeks later. Use (3.3.3) or (3.1.1b)
