Physical Description

In spring and summer creamy pustules appear and red bodies appear in autumn and winter.

Habitat

Occurs in areas of wet clay soil.

Life Cycle

Creamy pustules prodcue conidia and red bodies are ascospre forming. Spore types infect plants by transport of rain, wind to carcks in bark, pruning or via leaf scars.

Damaged Caused

Elongated branch lesions on leaf scars, side branches or bud bark in centre dies. Twigs dieback. Papery bark is seen. Fruits also damaged.
