Life Cycle |
Infection by swimming spores germinating from resistant spores resting in soil. These penetreate root tissues. Mycelium forms in roots. |
Damage Caused |
Death of trees and shrubs, by killing roots. Yellow sparse foliage, dieback, total death in winter. Roots thick, and appear dead. Dead strips extend up bark, if reaches a brach, this will die. |
Control Method |
Do not plant in waterlogged soils provide drainage. Do not use excessive mulches, manure. Use tolerant Leyland Cypress bark or tree. |
